EXTRA supplies have been ordered in a bid to ensure that this year’s plant sale in Musselburgh does not repeat last year’s quick sellout.
The event, organised by the town’s horticultural society, proved so popular that all the stock was bought in under one hour by eager gardeners.
Eve Dickinson, the group’s president, said that measures had been taken to avoid a repeat this time round.
She said: “After last year’s sellout plant sale, Musselburgh Horticultural Society will be hoping to do even better in 2024.
“It was an unbelievable plant sale last year and we sold out in under one hour. We are determined that will not happen this year.”
Eve added: “We have ordered extra bedding plants, herbs and tomatoes and will be bringing in some plants from a specialist nursery in Northumberland. The donations for the herbaceous perennials tables are looking good and taking over my garden.
“With the price of quality plants having skyrocketed in the past few years, this is people’s chance to obtain quality plants at fantastic prices.”
The plant sale takes place next Saturday (May 4), from 10.30am to noon, in St Michael’s Church Hall on Dalrymple Loan.
