A COUNTY man who acted in an aggressive manner towards his former partner has been banned from having any contact with her for the next 12 months.
Hamish Thomson appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court for sentencing last Thursday after previously admitting to a charge of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner towards the woman.
Thomson repeatedly shouted and swore at her and prevented her from leaving his home at James Court in Dunbar on February 18.
Thomson, 33, pleaded guilty to the offence when he appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last month.
Sheriff John Cook handed down a sentence of a community payback order, where Thomson will be placed under the supervision of the social work department for the next 12 months.
He has also been handed a year-long non-harassment order banning him from having any contact with the woman, and he was told he must attend sessions with the domestic abuse organisation Caledonian Men’s Programme when required to do so.
