CULINARY creations to tantalise tastebuds will be served up at a week-long festival next month.
Gullane Food and Drink Festival returns to the village from April 8 to 14, with a series of workshops, demonstrations, talks and tastings planned.
The festival, which is now in its third year, was launched in the wake of a challenging time for the food and drink sector, which had faced Covid-19 restrictions and reduced footfall.
Bringing creators and consumers in the East Lothian community together through experience and education is at the heart of Gullane Food and Drink Festival.

A spokesperson for the event told the Courier: “The event-packed calendar celebrates the produce, people and places that make up East Lothian’s vibrant and varied food and drink scene.
“Thanks to the overwhelming success of previous festivals and
the generous support of sponsor Rettie & Co, some favourite events are set to return alongside many highly anticipated new events for the 2024 festival.
“The mix of demonstrations, workshops, talks, tastings and tours are set to cover everything from berries to bubbles and cakes to kombucha – there truly is something to tickle everybody’s tastebuds.
“With a mix of both free and paid ticketed events, the festival is also committed to ensuring that opportunities to learn about and experience these local foods are open to everyone across our community.”

Among the events returning is the artisan and producers’ market, which takes place on the Saturday of festival week (April 13).
The market proved a popular fixture last year and organisers have promised “an even bigger range of market stalls and fresh street food by some of the county’s most talented local food artisans”.
A spokesperson for the event added: “Stock up your pantries, gather up foodie gifts, and pick out something delicious for lunch; this day is going to be (literally) jam packed.”
A full programme of events is expected to be released in the coming weeks.
