The Inner Wheel Club of Tranent celebrated its 40th anniversary at a special dinner celebration.
Members and guests met at Melville Castle last Thursday for dinner and a toast to the group’s milestone.
The guest speaker was poet and author Philippa Ramsden, who lives in Haddington.
She related several poems and short stories, ending with a special poem she composed to honour 100 years of Inner Wheel and the club’s 40th anniversary.
District chair Marjorie McGeary presented president Helen Kirkpatrick with a certificate on the special occasion.
Also joining the group were representatives from other clubs in the East Lothian district (District Two), including Musselburgh Inner Wheel Club.
A spokesperson for the club said: “A wonderful evening of friendship where we were joined by members of five other clubs in District Two. Also joining us were several of our past members.”
