A SOCIAL care organisation which supports people in East Lothian experiencing homelessness is holding a recruitment day on Monday.
Support workers are being hired by Blue Triangle to work as part of a team in providing safe, secure, supported accommodation for the people who use its services in Musselburgh and Port Seton.
A spokesperson for Blue Triangle said: “Blue Triangle is a social care organisation that empowers people to thrive by delivering solutions in connected communities which focus on the needs of each individual.
“We are looking for enthusiastic people who share our values (kind, passionate and creative) to join our services accommodating and supporting people experiencing homelessness and empowering them to thrive.”
The organisation is recruiting for several services: facilities at High Street, Millhill and North High Street, Musselburgh; and Wemyss House, Port Seton.
The spokesperson said: “We support people who are presenting homeless, that are care leavers and that are struggling with alcohol/drug and mental health issues.
“Blue Triangle provide those entering our services with a safe and supportive environment and work with them towards gaining their own tenancy. Our staff are trauma-informed and available 24/7 in all our services, championing our supported people’s rights and helping them overcome barriers.
“We work with those in the community through our outreach services, partnering with SMART Recovery UK and the public and social sector.
“Our staff focus on the need of each individual and support them with their recovery and sustaining their tenancy.”
'Reach your full potential'
John Kerr, support worker for Millhill, added: “Teamwork is a crucial part of health and social care because it is necessary for colleagues to work well together to ensure our supported people receive the best care possible.
“I have so much respect for all my colleagues’ drive, knowledge, and dedication. Blue Triangle has a culture of open communication that fosters trust, feedback and transparency among managers and employees. Our management team regularly shows gratitude for staff’s hard work and acknowledges employees for their contributions and achievements.
“I would recommend Blue Triangle to anyone – whether you have worked in the social care sector before or want to make a move into social care.
“We value kindness, passion and creativity above previous experience and will provide you with the training and support you need to reach your full potential.
“Even after all these years, I continue to learn and enjoy my work.”
The recruitment day takes place at 93 North High Street, Musselburgh, EH21 6JE, 11am-3pm. Call 0131 665 1313 for more information.
