A health and social care recruitment event at The Fraser Centre (pictured) will feature about 15 local employers from the sector looking to fill vacancies for a range of occupations, including care, domestic, clerical and catering positions.
Organised by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), the event tomorrow, between 10am and noon, is free to attend.
John Scott, DWP external relations leader for East Lothian, said: “Our work coaches in East Lothian are focused on providing every jobseeker with tailored support, helping to build confidence and develop new skills, so breaking down the barriers for those re-entering employment.
“Increasing the labour force is a key activity to support businesses fill their vacancies, and to grow the economy.
“Musselburgh Jobcentre held a recruitment event on February 7 with Scotmid, Seton Sands, Fort Kinnaird and Mercat Bar and Grill.
“Around 40 customers attended, with 10 job offers being made on the day and others to follow.
“The event was supported by East Lothian Works and also Skills Development Scotland to help customers review their CVs.”
