A 76-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested following the death of a man in Macmerry.

Police were called out following “an altercation” in Macmerry Industrial Estate.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1pm on Friday, police were called to a report of a 78-year-old man having been seriously injured during an altercation at an industrial estate in Macmerry, East Lothian.

“Emergency services attended and the man was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, where he died on Saturday.

“A 76-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with an assault and was due to appear before Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday."
