A CCTV camera could be installed at Dunbar Harbour.
A 4.5-metre mast would be fitted with a camera at the harbour, near Dunbar Leisure Pool, and a sound meter also attached.
The proposals, submitted by SSE Renewables, are being considered by East Lothian Council’s planning department.
According to the application: “The mast and associated cabinet required a concrete plinth to be installed.
“This is initially planned as a five-year deployment but may continue depending on the success of the monitoring initiative.”
A spokesperson for SSE Renewables highlighted the proposed use of the camera.
They said: "Continuing our programme of measures supporting biodiversity as part of Berwick Bank Wind Farm, SSE Renewables intend to install wildlife cameras to support monitoring of the kittiwake colony at Dunbar Castle.
"The equipment will contribute to counting the number of kittiwakes nesting at a section of Dunbar Castle and toward understanding kittiwake breeding success."
