A SUCCESSFUL beer company has welcomed East Lothian’s MSP.
Edinburgh Beer Factory – famous for its flagship brew, Paolozzi Lager – linked up with Thistly Cross Cider and moved to West Barns in 2022.
Paul McLennan, MSP for East Lothian and a former councillor for the village on East Lothian Council, described it as “a pleasure” to visit the team behind the beer.
He said: “It was good to hear from managing director Martin Borland about how the team is committed to expanding local employment opportunities: it’s not just about the beer – they’ve demonstrated their commitment to community growth and employment opportunities.
“I also had the chance to speak with owners Lynne and John Dunsmore about their exciting plans to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of the legendary Scottish artist Eduardo Paolozzi, one of the major inspirations behind the brewery’s founding.
“The connection is with the Paolozzi Foundation, set up by the artist 30 years ago ‘to advance the education of the public by the promotion of their appreciation of the fine arts and in particular works of Sir Eduardo Paolozzi’.”
