THE Musselburgh Over 50s Club has continued its fundraising with a gift to St Columba’s Hospice in Edinburgh.
A total of £1,000 was raised through raffles.
A cheque was handed over to hospice volunteer Laura Munro, who said: “Many thanks to everyone who donated. We are a charity and all our funding comes from donations. This means a great deal.”
The club meets at the Store Club in Musselburgh every Thursday afternoon, 1.30-4pm, bringing people together for nearly a decade.
Organiser Carol Edmond said: “We are a community club where everyone is welcome.
“Thanks to kind donations from local businesses over the Christmas period, including the Ravelston House Hotel, S Luca, Blueberry, Brunton Bistro, Scottie bar, Caprice, Jill Smillie Hairdressing, Domino’s, Hair Gossip, Musselburgh Racecourse and a very large donation from Tesco in Musselburgh, we are delighted to donate to such a worthwhile cause. Thank you to everyone for their support.”
St Columba’s is an independent charity which offers free, flexible and person-centred palliative care and support to patients and their families.
