A LONGNIDDRY man who sexually assaulted a woman in a Prestonpans street is due to be sentenced next month.
Andrzej Zajaczkowski, 64, was due to be sentenced at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last Wednesday after previously admitting the offence.
But when the case called in front of Sheriff Kevin McCarron, the court was told that the social work reports previously called for were still not available.
Sheriff McCarron was told that this was the second time that the case was to be deferred after Zajaczkowski had failed to show up to court in December.
The sheriff agreed to defer sentence again to February 9.
In November, Zajaczkowski pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting the victim by touching and squeezing her breast over her clothing during an incident at Hawthorn Road in Prestonpans on April 21 last year.
The Polish national also had a plea of not guilty accepted by the Crown to assaulting PC David Porteous by repeatedly kicking the officer to the leg on the same date.
Sheriff McCarron had previously placed Zajaczkowski, of Lorne Way, on the sex offenders’ register for a term still to be decided.
