A YELLOW weather warning for snow and then ice has been extended into Wednesday.
SNOW showers are forecast as part of a yellow weather warning covering Scotland tomorrow (Tuesday).
The Met Office has issued the warning, which stretches throughout the day, for snow and ice.
Already, a yellow weather warning is in place for the north of the country.
A spokesperson for the national body said: “Further snow showers, perhaps merging into a longer spell of snow, are likely to cause further disruption on Tuesday.”
People have been urged to be prepared for possible transport delays, as well as cancellations to rail services.
Powercuts may also occur, with the potential to affect other services, such as mobile phone coverage.
Now, the Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for ice across much of the central belt and south-west Scotland on Wednesday.
The warning is in place until noon on Wednesday and the Met Office spokesperson said: "Following sleet and snowfall on Tuesday, a fairly widespread ice risk is expected overnight into Wednesday morning."
