Elphinstone residents were treated to a special pantomime performance of Cinderella at Elphinstone Miners’ Welfare & Social Club.
The Chaplins Pantomime production was made possible by the village’s community association, who funded the show.
Margo Macdonald, chairperson of Elphinstone Community Association and a member of Tranent and Elphinstone Community Council, said: “It was a really fantastic show.
“It was really quite professional and it looks like the kids and families loved it.
“We normally only have enough money to fund the fair in the summer, but we have done great with fundraising this year and so managed to put this event on too.
“It is something we might do again, but it will depend on if we can raise the funds.
“I don’t think I would want it to be too regular as then it just becomes run of the mill.
“This was very special and we just want to do what we can for the kids in the village.”
A spokesperson for Elphinstone Miners’ Welfare & Social Club added: “Thank you to Elphinstone Community Association for arranging the pantomime for our local families to enjoy.
“I think all who attended would agree that the cast from Chaplins Pantomimes were simply amazing!”
