AN APPEAL has been launched to try to find a 15-year-old girl who has been missing for almost 24 hours.

Police Scotland are looking for the public to help trace Niaomi Doran, who was last seen in the Coalgate area of Tranent at about 6.30pm yesterday (Saturday).

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "When last seen, she was wearing a long, black parka jacket with a beige, fluffy, hood, white Crocs and white fluffy socks.

"Extensive enquiries are under way to locate Niaomi and our concern is growing.

"Her family is understandably worried and just want to know she is safe and well.

"She is known to visit Edinburgh city centre and East Lothian but may have travelled further afield.

"Officers are appealing for anyone who may have seen Niaomi or who has any information as to where she may have gone to contact them on 101, quoting incident number, 3515 of 30 December 2023."
