A flood alert is in place across East Lothian following a period of heavy rainfall yesterday (Wednesday).
SEPA has issued the alert warning that flooding could experienced across the Lothians and Edinburgh today.
The warning reads: “A period of heavy rain on Wednesday could cause flooding impacts from rivers and surface water on Wednesday and Thursday.
“Particularly at risk are urban areas and the transport network. Impacts may include flooding to low-lying land and roads, with difficult driving conditions. Isolated properties may also be at risk.”
SEPA also advised that members of the public “remain vigilant” during periods of bad weather and to take appropriate precautions to ensure safety.
The group said: “Remain vigilant and remember, it is your responsibility to take actions which help protect yourself and your property. Advice and information is also available through Floodline on 0345 9881188.”
