SANTA’S tour of Tranent, Pencaitland, New Winton and Macmerry has been hailed a huge success by organisers.
Santa toured the town and villages on Sunday, with Councillor Colin McGinn and Ormiston Community Council chair Scott Gillies both taking a turn as the festive VIP alongside Satnav Elves Eva and Freya Knox.
Many children and adults showed up to see Santa on the night.
Paula Waugh, one of the event organisers, said: “We had a fabulous turnout everywhere. It was great doing Pencaitland this year for the first time, and next year we will extend the route to include more streets.
“We tried to squeeze in Tranent and the villages in one night due to me getting eye surgery, but next year we will do it over two nights so Santa can visit the villages earlier.
“We hope to call on a few favours and maybe fundraise for a sleigh next year.
“It’s such a pleasure to do this and see all the wee faces light up when they see Santa – my favourite day of the year.
“We want to thank everyone for their support and for making us smile on our travels, and we appreciate each and every one of you standing out on a cold night.
“We want to wish everyone in Tranent, Pencaitland, Macmerry, New Winton and all the other villages a very merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year.”
