PUPILS at Musselburgh Grammar School are enjoying learning a range of skills with the Haddington-based Bridge Centre Motorcycle Project (BCMP).
The partnership between the school and charity has been ongoing for several years.
Funding from the Musselburgh Area Partnership has ensured the provision of funding for another 10-week session in the new year.
A school spokesperson said: “Through a comprehensive 10-week programme, pupils venture out weekly to the motorcycle centre at Haddington, immersing themselves in an array of skill-building activities, confidence-building and general learning experiences.
“One of the standout features of this collaboration is the incorporation of off-road motorcycle training.”
They added: “The BCMP, operating as a charitable organisation, stands as a beacon for youth development, reliant on funding to sustain its impactful initiatives.
“At its core, the programme facilitates group work, aiding participants in setting and achieving realistic targets.
“Emphasising teamwork and problem-solving, the initiative cultivates essential life skills essential for personal growth.”
One pupil said: “I have loved this, from the team-building sessions to actually getting on the track.”
Another added: “I was invited back to this group in a leadership role; I have enjoyed the extra time on the track and helping others.”
