Plans for a multi-million-pound facility at Dunbear Point, between the East Coast Main Line and the A1, were highlighted last month.
Early proposals were sent to East Lothian Council and two consultation events have been pencilled in for either side of Christmas.
The first event next week will allow people to find out more about theSpace Dunbar’s vision for the site.
Information about theSpace Scotland CIC, the site, planning issues, the potential social and economic impact of the plans, and the funding strategy will also be on offer.

A spokesperson for theSpace Dunbar said: “We have a duty under planning law to provide two public consultation events, to engage with our community and to seek ideas, support and challenge.
“We see this is a big opportunity to build on a large public consultation we carried out in 2022 and add to conversations we are having day-to-day in our community.”
The consultation event takes place at Hallhill Sports Centre from 2pm to 8pm.
Also included in the proposals are a flexible rehearsal and performance auditorium suitable for cinema, gigs and theatre.
An indoor and outdoor skatepark, indoor bouldering climbing walls, four 10-pin bowling lanes, indoor and outdoor cafe, bar and social spaces also feature.
The spokesperson also outlined progress in terms of funding.
They said: “We have now secured over £33,000 of funding towards professional fees.
“We recently submitted an application to East Lammermuir Community Council and we will hear soon if we have been successful.
“If we are, we will have secured all we need to take us through to putting a planning application together.
“The funding path is a challenging one and will continue to be so but we are making good progress, so we remain confident and are keeping our focus on the short-term goals.”
