A REVAMPED service station opens its doors today (Thursday) along with a new fried chicken restaurant at the site – and there’s the chance to win free burgers for a year.
Motor Fuel Group’s (MFG) Monktonhall BP petrol station at Old Craighall Services is being joined on the site by Miss Millie’s Fried Chicken, Greggs and Costa Coffee.
Miss Millie’s is opening its first Scottish outlet at 11am, with the first 50 customers getting a free classic burger, and one lucky person winning a free burger every week for a year.
The Courier understands that bakery chain Greggs is also opening today, while the Costa Coffee drive-thru is set to open in the new year.
In total, the new businesses will create about 30 jobs.
Tamer Saoud, retail manager at MFG Monktonhall, was excited about the launch.
He said: “It’s amazing! It’s a flagship site for us.
“We are so eager to bring it trading again and serve the local community once more.
“There is lots of new housing that will benefit from the services and not feel isolated [anymore].
Mr Saoud also said that they were “planning for the future” by bringing new EV chargers to the site that would be among the fastest in Scotland.
Meanwhile, Carl Traill, managing director for Miss Millie’s, said: “We are delighted to be opening and can’t wait for residents to taste our delicious new menu.
“Miss Millies has been serving awesome chicken in Bristol and the south-west of England for over 35 years, and we are excited to be taking the Miss Millie’s brand into Scotland for the first time.”
