A MUSSELBURGH man has been banned from driving after he admitted being on the road while having cannabis in his system.
Lewis Voy was caught with 2.9mg of cannabis in 100ml of blood when he was stopped by police officers at the town’s High Street on March 24 – the legal limit is 2mg.
Voy, of Bellfield Court, Campie Road, was pulled over after he was seen driving his vehicle and failing to comply with a ‘keep left’ traffic sign at Linkfield Road.
The 22-year-old was also found to be supplying the Class B drug to others.
Voy pleaded guilty to three offences by letter when his case called at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last Wednesday.
Sheriff Matthew Auchincloss deferred sentence for social work reports to be prepared and for Voy’s personal appearance.
The sheriff also imposed an interim driving ban on Voy until sentence was fully passed on December 19.
