TRANENT'S annual Christmas lights display takes place tomorrow (Sunday) from 5pm to 6pm on Winton Place.
The lights, organised by Tranent and Elphinstone Community Council, will be switched on by Sanderson’s Wynd pupil Freya Rawlins, and the evening will also feature the draw for the 2024 gala court.
There will be carol singing by Clark Community Choir, as well as music by singers from Tranent Parish Church and Pulse of the Place. Radio Saltire will also be in attendance.
Santa will be dropping by for photos.
A road closure will be in place on Winton Place from 4.30pm to 6pm for the event.

Mike Falconer, community council chair, said: “We are looking forward to another great ceremony this year. I would like to say a big thank you to all who have helped us organise this year’s event.
“Organising things like this is no easy task but we enjoy the challenge.
“We are also excited to draw next year’s gala court at the switch-on. We did this last year and it proved popular, so we hope people enjoy that again, too.
“I’d like to say a big thank you to Matthew Wright and the team at MPACT for funding the Christmas lights. Their funding is a massive boost to us and the people of Tranent and we are very grateful.”
