Cockenzie and Port Seton In Bloom welcomed the return of its garden competition awards after several years’ hiatus.
The awards took place on Friday, October 27, at Cockenzie and Port Seton Bowling Club, where residents took home prizes in a variety of categories.
Members of the group viewed the gardens in the village in August, drawing up a shortlist of the very best before an independent judge, Linda Playfair of Redhouse Nurseries, chose the winners.
The winners in each of the categories were as follows:
Best Garden: winner Bob Hole; runner-up Anna Coyle.
Best Small Garden: winner Brian and Elaine Ross, runner-up Allan Jack.
Best Hanging Basket: winner Archie and Jane Johnston, runner-up Isobel Bradley.
Dave Kerr Memorial Trophy for ‘Something Special’: Christina Moffat.
Award for best Commercial Premises: Thorntree Inn.
The group congratulated all the winners.
