A CHESS player from Preston Lodge High School took home first prize at the Edinburgh Junior Congress.
Taylor Fletcher was joint winner in the Secondary U900 section of the competition hosted by Lothian Junior Chess at Broughton High School.
Taylor finished level with Meiting Wang from Edinburgh Chess Academy.
A Preston Lodge spokesperson said: “Our chess programme at Preston Lodge is providing wonderful opportunities for our young people.
“We are delighted to hear of Taylor Fletcher’s success at the Edinburgh Junior Congress 2023, held at Broughton High School on October 28.”
