Tranent Library will be closed on Saturdays amid staffing pressures at East Lothian Council’s library service.
The library began operating on a Saturday in February this year due to the service’s popularity.
But now, due to pressure on staff, East Lothian Council has reversed this decision starting from tomorrow. This will be reviewed on December 18.
An East Lothian Council spokesperson said: “Due to staffing pressures Tranent Library will be closed on Saturdays from Saturday 4 November. This decision will be reviewed on 18 December 2023. We apologise for any inconvenience.”
Tranent Library remains open Monday to Friday 9am until 5pm (10am until 5pm on Wednesday). The library closes for lunch between 1pm and 2pm.
