A VILLAGE’S food and drink festival has served up a tasty donation to two good causes.
The Gullane Food & Drink Festival in April saw events ranging from a family bake-off and culinary cinematic experience to scone-making demonstrations and whisky tasting.
Organisers were delighted to make a £1,000 donation to both East Lothian Foodbank and the North Berwick Kindness Co-operative.
Both charities actively support East Lothian families who are struggling with the cost-of-living crisis by providing emergency food and support.
Katie Reid, from the North Berwick Kindness Co-operative, was delighted with the funding boost.
She said: “This donation will fill our freezers with around a month’s worth of food. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who supported the food festival.”
Bethany Hitchen and Louise Pickering, two of the food festival’s organising team, visited both the foodbank, based in Tranent, and the North Berwick project to hand over the donations.
Louise said: “We are delighted to be able to donate to such worthy charities.”
