A MUSSELBURGH man who was caught performing a solo sex act in the street has had a warrant issued for his arrest.

Marek Dziadowicz was due to be sentenced at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday after he had pleaded guilty to the offence last month.

But when the case was called, lawyer Peter Winning told Sheriff Kevin McCarron that his client was not present and that no social work report was available on him either.

The sheriff issued a non-appearance warrant for his arrest.

Dziadowicz, 25, was seen exposing himself and performing the sex act at Edinburgh’s South St David Street on June 24, 2021.

Police were called out and, when Dziadowicz, of the town’s Millhill, was traced and arrested, the officers discovered that he was carrying two offensive weapons.

The officers found a Stanley knife and a lock knife during a search and he was subsequently taken to nearby St Leonard’s Police Station.

He admitted both charges when he appeared at the court on September 19 and Sheriff McCarron deferred sentence and placed him on the sex offenders’ register for a term still to be decided.

Dziadowicz pleaded guilty to charges of committing an act of indecency and possessing two offensive weapons at South St David Street, Edinburgh, on June 24, 2021.
