TWO coffee mornings have raised nearly £1,500 for a charity supporting people affected by cancer.
The East Lothian Conservative and Unionist Association held a coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support in North Berwick.
The fundraiser collected £1,286.13 and a second coffee morning, organised by Craig Hoy, South Scotland MSP, in his Haddington office, added a further £170.75.
Macmillan is one of the largest charities in the UK which provides specialist healthcare, information and financial support to people affected by cancer.
Mr Hoy said: “It was good to host a Macmillan coffee morning and to once again help out at the one held by the East Lothian Conservative and Unionist Association in North Berwick. Collectively, these two coffee mornings have helped to raise over £1,450 for Macmillan.
“As well as supporting the fantastic work of Macmillan nurses, these coffee mornings were a great opportunity for people to meet others and enjoy fresh homemade baking.”
