Musselburgh’s David Macbeth Moir pub has been ranked as the cheapest Wetherspoons in the UK according to a study by Pantry and Larder.
The food studies business has created an interactive map which shows which Wetherspoons pubs offer the cheapest drinks.
The study found that you can buy a drink for just £2.58 at the pub on Bridge Street.
The price of Carling, the cheapest option, ranges from £2.29 to £5.99 depending on your location in the UK with the Musselburgh pub charging £2.58 per pint. While a pint of Tennent’s will cost you £3.39.
The interactive pricing map is available on the Pantry and Larder website and allows you to find your local Wetherspoons pub and compare prices to other branches across the UK.
Prices in and around London proved to be the most expensive with a pint of Carling costing up to £5.89 in some parts of the UK capital, more than double the cost in Musselburgh.
The study analysed over 300,000 prices from every Wetherspoons in the UK and covers every type of drink on offer.
Veronica Fletcher, of Pantry & Larder, said: "Drink prices vary significantly across the UK, but certain drinks are notably cheaper in Scotland and these bring the average price down. For example, a bottle of Budweiser is £3.32 in most Wetherspoons in England, but £2.88 in most Scottish Wetherspoons."
