Work is being carried out to clean up the county from the impact of Storm Babet over the weekend.
The storm, which hit the county on Friday and Saturday, has since blown over and East Lothian Council is working to clear fallen branches, debris and sand blown from beaches.
SEPA has also advised that people avoid open water swimming and to be cautious of water flow following the storm.
An East Lothian Council spokesperson said: "Cleanup from Storm Babet continues in affected areas across the county. Large amounts of sand which were blown from the beach at North Berwick onto the surrounding roads are being removed and work continues to remove branches and debris that have fallen from trees in other areas.
"Please be patient with our teams who are balancing this additional workload alongside their regular duties.
"SEPA has also issued advice on to be careful in or around flood water. Remember that not only is flood water likely to be dirty, hazards can be hidden, so please don’t walk or drive into it. They also urge people to keep away from any riverbank and manmade waterside infrastructures which may have been affected by the severe impacts experienced.
"Finally, SEPA advises that people avoid open water swimming after heavy rainfall, which could lead to an increase in harmful bacteria entering the water from agricultural land or sewage systems."
