Members of the public have been advised to avoid coastal paths and harbours in the county amid ongoing bad weather conditions.
A yellow weather warning remains in place for rain across East Lothian until noon tomorrow. Furthermore, an amber warning for rain is in place for parts of the county south of Dunbar.
East Lothian Council has advised that coastal paths and harbours are avoided.
It comes after images on social media have shown people out in the water or on harbours in the county despite the bad weather.
A spokesperson for East Lothian Council said: “With continued heavy rainfall and strong winds affecting parts of East Lothian people are advised to avoid local coastal walkways and harbours.”
Members of the public were previously advised to avoid North Berwick Harbour due to the weather.
An RNLI spokesperson said: "Significant overtopping of sea defences in North Berwick Harbour area occurred overnight and continues even after high water has past.
"Stay well back; very powerful waves have been reaching into dune systems of local beaches, over sea defences and onto roads."
