A section of the A1 is set to close next month for three nights to facilitate resurfacing works.
BEAR Scotland, acting on behalf of Transport Scotland, is planning to carry out essential resurfacing works on the A1 Southbound at Bankton Junction, starting on November 3.
Work will take place from until Wednesday November 8, between 19.30pm and 6am each night. No works are planned to take place on Saturday and Sunday nights.
Road users on the A1 Southbound will be diverted from Bankton Junction via the A198, B1377 and A6137, rejoining the A1 southbound at the Abbotsview Junction.
This diversion will add approximately 2.2 miles and nine minutes to affected journeys.
A BEAR Scotland spokesperson said: “Unfortunately, we have no option but to close this section of the A1 to ensure the safety of the workforce and members of the travelling public.
“During construction hours a clearly signed diversion route will be in place, please also refer to the attached location plan and diversion drawing for further details.
“Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.”
