WORK could be carried out to a popular path connecting Haddington and Longniddry.
The four-mile route connects Longniddry Railway Station with Haddington, following the former railway line.
Now East Lothian Council has opened a consultation urging people to have their say on the plans.
Transport Planning and Engineering has been commissioned by Edinburgh and Lothians Greenspace Trust to carry out “an options appraisal and detailed design” for the route.
A spokesperson for East Lothian Council said: “This consultation will be used to consider options for the upgrade of the sections of the route between Longniddry station and Gateside Road in Haddington.
“The works will consider associated access points, assess the various surfacing options for the upgrade and determine what drainage and vegetation clearance is required to open up the route.
“The findings from this consultation shall be used in further communication with stakeholders for the ultimate selection of an option to be developed further into the detailed design.”

The consultation closes tomorrow (Friday) and feedback is anticipated early in the New Year.
