Scammers are targeting holidaymakers looking to book a caravan at Drummohr Camping & Glamping Site.
The business, based between Musselburgh and Prestonpans, has warned guests on Facebook that a number of scammers have been attempting to “sell” accommodation at the site in Facebook groups without any authority to do so.
The scammers are asking for money to be paid directly into their bank accounts.
The business has advised people not to trust these posts and only book directly through their website or via trusted websites Hoseasons or Pitch Up.
A spokesperson for the business said: “We are aware that there have been individuals posting our accommodation for sale on local buying and selling groups, with payment directly to themselves.
“These people are scammers and are not affiliated with Drummohr Camping & Glamping Site.
"We have reported them to Facebook. Bookings should only be made either directly with us or through our booking partners Hoseasons or Pitch Up. If you have any queries regarding a booking, please contact us directly on 0131 665 6867 and we will be happy to help!”
