The frozen food and grocery chain has premises on the town’s High Street.
They will close permanently on October 29.
No reason for the closure has been disclosed.
The Courier has asked how many people are employed in the store and if they will be redeployed.
Farmfoods have also been asked if they own the premises and what will happen to the building.
A spokesperson for the shop said: "I can confirm that our Tranent shop will permanently close on Sunday 29th October.
"I have listed the three closest shops to our former Tranent shop: Musselburgh, Dalkeith and Duddingston Park South, Edinburgh."
They added they would not "make any further comments regarding our Tranent shop" but confirmed there were "no current plans for closure" of the Musselburgh branch.
