A county resident who assaulted a woman by kicking her to the head during a violent incident has been told she must pay the victim compensation.
Donna Steele, 41, attacked Kerry Gunn-Black by pushing her to the ground before kicking the woman on the head as she lay on the ground near her home at The Pleasance, Aberlady.
Steele admitted the assault in January last year when she appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last month and was back in the dock for sentencing last week.
Sheriff John Cook sentenced Steele to a community payback order, placing her under the supervision of the local social work department for the next 12 months.
Steele was also ordered to carry out 180 hours of unpaid work in the community as well as having to pay Ms Gunn-Black £250 in compensation.
Steele admitted to assaulting Kerry Gunn-Black by pushing her to the ground and kicking her to the head at The Pleasance, Aberlady, on January 17, 2022.
