A community giveback scheme has been launched by Pepe's Piri Piri in Musselburgh.
To celebrate the start of the initiative, £1,000 has been donated to the East Lothian Foodbank.
Raj Kumar, operations manager at Pepe's Piri Piri in Musselburgh, said: "The East Lothian Foodbank is doing some great work to help families that are struggling around the area and we feel they deserved the first donation."
He stressed that Pepe's Piri Piri will be celebrating its third anniversary on Musselburgh's High Street, adding: "We feel its important we give something back to our local community."
He added: "We would like to thank our customers as, without them, it would not be able to launch this community giveback scheme. Our scheme will allow us to share profit and support different Scottish registered charities and organisations on a monthly basis within East Lothian. Charities and organisations can contact us and apply for funding by emailing community@pepesmusselburgh.co.uk."
He explained: "The donation will very much depend on the requirement and support - we will assess each case on it on merits. There's no fixed monthly amount. Supporting the local community is very important and we fully understand grants and funding is not always available. This is the reason why we feel it's important to help the people of East Lothian. If we can improve someone's life because of our contributions then what more could we ask for.
Pepe's Piri Piri, described as 'The Home of Fresh Flame Grilled Chicken,' now has 180 stores in the UK and multiple stores across United Arab Emirates and Asia.
