A GROUP breathing life into a once-derelict garden is throwing open its doors today (Sunday).
Plenty will be on offer, including fresh garden produce, jams and fruits, at Gilmerton Walled Garden from noon to 4pm.
Proceeds will go towards continuing the work at the kitchen garden, near Athelstaneford.
June Tainsh, chair of the garden committee, encouraged people to head along and see the work that had been carried out.
She said: “Come along for a great day out and support the incredible work of the volunteers who are breathing new life into this once-derelict kitchen garden.
“You could even sign up to become a volunteer yourself and experience the calm and beauty of the garden as often as you like.”
Teas, coffees and home baking will be on offer throughout the day.
There will also be basket weaving workshops and a lucky dip, plus honey from the bee residents of the garden will be on sale.
Gilmerton House Kitchen Garden is a community-driven project dedicated to revitalising the area.
Volunteers have transformed the space into a thriving, therapeutic environment for the community to enjoy.
