Cat lovers are set to have a purr-fect afternoon next month, when the Edinburgh and East of Scotland Cat Club show makes its return.
Pet owners are being encouraged to enter their pets into the show, which takes place at Queen Margaret University on September 16.
Now in its 64th year, the show will welcome cat owners from across the UK, and is accepting entries until Monday. The show features a range of categories, from household pets to best in show.
Sally Woolrich, show manager, told the Courier: “I am looking forward to welcoming our exhibitors, cats and judges. There will be over 100 cats present, with a great many breeds being represented.
“We will also have household pets, which are cats being judged on temperament, condition and grooming.
“This year the show will end with the best in show kitten, followed by the overall best in show.
“This will be in front of both the exhibitors and the public, and in each case the household pets will be judged before the pedigree cats.
“Our show last year was a great success and massive thanks are due to all the people who worked so hard both before the show and on the day.”
The show will be open to the general public from 12.30pm. Tickets are £5 for an adult, £3 for concessions and £10 for a family ticket. Tickets can be bought in advance or at the door.
