The installation of six "temporary classrooms" to the grounds of Preston Lodge High School to help mitigate the enforced closure of parts of the school has taken place.
Twenty three classrooms have been closed in the school after survey work discovered faults with the Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC) used in the school's construction.
Now six new portable units, each containing one classroom, have been moved into the grounds in time for the new term to start on Thursday, August 17 – a day later than all other schools in the county.

Portable toilet facilities are also to be installed as part of the plans.
The portable buildings each measure 14.81m by 4.21m in size with a ceiling height of 2.5m and are being leased through East Lothian Council's partner FES.
These new classrooms come in combination with the highly unusual move that will see many of the new S1s receiving an unconventional first year at secondary school.

The new S1s will only have some of their lessons taught at the Preston Lodge campus with much or their first high school experience taught, by PL teachers, in 'home rooms' at their previous primary schools or community buildings.
These pupils will remain in their current P7 classes and will not, as is normal, be mixed with children from other feeder primary schools.
An East Lothian Council spokesperson said: “In preparation for the new term, six temporary classrooms and toilet facilities are due to be installed in the grounds of Preston Lodge High School to increase capacity in the school while a number of classrooms remain out of use due to RAAC.
"Work to install foundations for the units has been completed in advance of the units arriving.
“Options appraisals to determine next steps for Preston Lodge continue. The situation remains challenging and complex, and we are grateful to the school community for their support.
“While the temporary units will increase the school’s capacity, it is still necessary for us to continue with temporary 'home room' arrangements for incoming S1 pupils as previously advised.
"Further information will be shared with S1 families in the coming days on arrangements for the new term.”
