A SUCCESSFUL salon has continued its remarkable streak of awards after doing the double at a national ceremony.

Sharon’s Hair and Beauty Boutique has picked up eight awards in eight years.

The latest accolade saw the business being crowned the Hair and Beauty Salon of the Year South East and then the overall winner at the Scottish Independent Retail Awards.

Sharon Edgar, owner of the business on Haddington’s Market Street, was full of praise for her five colleagues and the clients who voted for them.

She said: “I think the secret is just the team we have got at the salon.

“It is just a really nice place to be.

“All the clients comment how friendly and welcoming everybody is.

“I am just so proud, so proud, of them and knowing our clients think of us this way.”

The awards, now in their 10th year, were held at The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Glasgow.

Sharon was joined at the ceremony by colleagues Elaine Paterson and Aime Paterson.

And they were quick to break news of their success to colleagues Leah Paterson, Manuela Venturiero and Flora Kelly.

Sharon told the Courier they were “not expecting” to pick up awards .

She said: “It was fantastic.

“This is not an award we entered ourselves into. It is basically voted for by our clients.”
