A Tranent-based radio station has expanded its broadcast onto digital radio (DAB) throughout Edinburgh and into parts of West Lothian.
Radio Saltire’s new service will supplement the station’s existing FM service and recently enhanced mobile phone app.
Davie Martin, co-founder of Radio Saltire, commented: “We’re doing this in direct response to our listeners, many of whom have asked us for a DAB service.
“We’ve continued to invest in our infrastructure since launching Radio Saltire and we’re really excited about adding DAB to the variety of ways our listeners can access East Lothian’s favourite community radio station.”
It is hoped the expansion of the station will allow Radio Saltire to reach more audiences across Edinburgh and West Lothian.
It is also hoped this will increase advertising opportunities.
Mags Foster, Radio Saltire chair, said: “Radio Saltire’s broadcast capabilities are larger than ever. It’s great news for our advertisers, our presenters but, above all, our listeners.”
