Visitors to North Berwick will get a chance to get some hands-on lifeboat experience when the RNLI hosts its open day tomorrow.
The event, which takes place at the lifeboat station on Victoria Road, will have a range of activities and entertainment for the whole family to enjoy while learning more about what the RNLI do.
Visitors will get the chance to climb aboard the crew's lifeboat Evelyn M while meeting Stormy Sam and the entire voluntary lifeboat crew.
There will also be a chance to get a first look at the team's "new" tractor which is used to help launch and recover the lifeboat crew.
An RNLI spokesperson said: "The tractor actually entered service with the RNLI in about 1990, so whilst she is new for us she has spent a few years launching lifeboats to save lives at sea.
"With the changing beach profile of North Berwick's West Bay the older tractor, which was coming to the end of its ten year in service life, was having to enter the water deeper than the allowable 'wading depth' in order to get the lifeboat on and off the trailer.
"A brand new replacement wasn't suitable due to the wading depth (the depth that it can safely be driven into the water) being too low, so that tractor went to Anstruther and our 'new' tractor came to us having left service down in Portsmouth.
"Our head shore crew and launch vehicle trainer Duncan Barbour has been busy converting our volunteers to be able to drive the new tractor and she is now in service and has already launched the lifeboat on call outs."
A chance to take part in a "life-saving" rescue will also take place as visitors can take part in the throw line challenge to save Dead Fred.
Youngsters will also have the opportunity to pilot a radio controlled lifeboat as part of the event.
Musical entertainment will also be provided with sea shanties at 11am, Gullane Ceilidh Band at 2pm and some performances from North Berwick Pipe Band.
Visitors can enjoy some home baking, tea and coffee while they can also try their luck at the raffle and tombola.
The event takes place from 11am to 4pm. All are welcome to attend.
