Gilmerton House, near Athelstaneford, has launched a new event space, The Laundry House, aimed at catering for private parties and weddings.
Sited in the grounds of Gilmerton House, The Laundry House was built in 1804 and has been restored to accommodate up to 100 seated guests.
The venue includes a spacious main room with dark beamed roof, wood and flagstone tiled floor, and an outdoor terrace.
Graham Booth, general manager at Gilmerton House, said: “We are thrilled to introduce The Laundry House as the newest addition.
“With its rich history, unique character and stunning location, we believe The Laundry House will allow us to cater to a broader range of discerning guests who appreciate the unique beauty and tranquillity that Gilmerton House offers.
“The Laundry House has, over the years, been home to the estate’s laundry, a garage and, more recently, a gym.
“Now, after its recent transformation, this gorgeous new blank canvas can be used to host everything from private parties and product launches to yoga retreats and wedding ceremonies.
“Its versatility is a huge asset to Gilmerton House and will be available either independently or incorporated with the main house.”
