A REVERSE vending machine could be put in place at the rear of a village shop.
The Co-op Group wants to put the machine in place behind its premises in East Linton.
Reverse vending machines can be used to return plastic bottles and drinks cans.
The items are then scanned and a coupon can be printed off offering the customer either a discount or a charitable donation.
Members of the public can look at the proposals on East Lothian Council’s website.
The planning department hope to make a decision on the plans by the middle of next month.
