Sanchita Patjoshi, who heads the team of volunteers behind the event, was delighted with the opening days.
She said: “Saturday was fantastic; well beyond expectations.”
Events continue until Sunday, with the newly crowned Civic Week Queen involved in the tree planting at Dunbar Primary School Nursery Gardens on Friday.
Music from the ’90s will be on offer at Dunbar Parish Church Hall that evening and there is a football festival at Hallhill Sports Centre the following day, as well as a ceilidh that night.
The curtain comes down on the festival on Sunday evening with a thanksgiving service at Dunbar Battery.
