A SPACE for green-fingered enthusiasts at the heart of a new housing development has been given the go ahead.
East Lothian Council’s planning department has granted planning permission for a community growing area next to the new school campus at Wallyford’s St Clements Wells.
Three buildings – a Keder house, greenhouse and potting shed – will be created on the site.
It is hoped the development will provide a route into the food and drink producing industry.
A spokesperson for East Lothian Council said: “The Agricultural Skills Academy at Wallyford Learning Campus is an integral part of our plans to support an exciting curricular offering for Rosehill’s learners alongside partnerships with education partners and wider opportunities for community involvement.”
