A MAN has admitted setting fire to a mobile catering van at Fenton Barns.
Brian Johnstone, formerly of Watts Close, Musselburgh and Upper Keith, Humbie, wilfully set fire to the mobile van, causing extensive damage to the exterior and interior of the vehicle in 2020.
Johnstone pleaded guilty to the offence during an appearance in the dock at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last week.
He also had not guilty pleas accepted by the Crown to stealing a quantity of fuel at the former Raceland karting centre, by Gladsmuir, on October 21, 2020.
The 61-year-old offender also had a not guilty plea accepted to being found in the curtilage of the Raceland premises on October 28, 2020.
Johnstone, currently of Maybole, Ayrshire, had his sentence deferred to next month for social work reports to be prepared.
