PUPILS attending Haddington Primary School will be welcomed by a new headteacher following the summer holidays.
Willie French, who took on the post following the merger of Haddington Infant School and King’s Meadow Primary School in 2018, is retiring following four-and-a-half years in the role.
Currently, more than 830 youngsters attend either the school or the nursery.
Applications for the role had to be submitted by last Sunday (May 21), with the job advert showing a salary of £86,523 per year.
The advert notes: “The context of the school is unique at this time.
“This will be the fourth full school academic session where the school operates fully as Haddington Primary School, the result of merging the former schools, Haddington Infant School and King’s Meadow Primary School, to form Haddington Primary School, during the latter part of 2018.
“Many activities and events have taken place to create a ‘one school’ ethos.”
