PLANS for a second family park in East Lothian could be unveiled next month.

A bid to create a farm-themed family park at East Fortune Farm was revealed earlier this year.

The proposals, which came from Grant Bell – who manages the existing East Links Family Park, near West Barns – and Jane Brand, are expected to be lodged with East Lothian Council’s planning department next month.

Developers previously held a public consultation event on the site before a public meeting in nearby Athelstaneford Village Hall last month.

Concerns, including increases in traffic and noise, as well as sewage, have been raised by members of the public, with claims made that houses have been put on the market as a result.

Tony Thomas, of APT Planning and Development, who is representing those behind the plans, confirmed that a second public consultation event would take place tomorrow (Friday) on the site.

He said: “We have identified from feedback forms those questions that have been asked about things like traffic and noise.

“We have created some additional boards which identify and answer those queries and have been able to do some work on those in between times.”

The public will get the chance to view the latest plans between 2pm and 8pm.

Previously, it was outlined that the site could contain a children’s play area, pedal go-karts and a miniature railway line, as well as livestock.

Mr Bell has already outlined his intention to leave the existing East Links Family Park when his lease runs out in 2026.

At the same time, the owner of the site, farming and leisure business AP Dale, has already confirmed that East Links will continue with a new tenant, new attractions and increased investment.
