Road users are set to face major delays as a main road into Longniddry will close for three days with a lengthy diversion set to be in place.
A closure will be in place along the B6363, Coal Road, from the Gladsmuir junction to the Cantyhall crossroads, a distance of about 1.95km, from Friday (March 31) until Monday (March 3).
The road is one of the main routes into Longniddry from Gladsmuir and the A1 to the south. A lengthy diversion route is set to be in place along the A1, past Meadowmill Roundabout and along the A198.
A section of the road was previously closed for 12 days in May last year from its junction with the A198 southwards to Morrison Lane. This latest closure will see work carried out on the other part of the road, not impacted by last years closure.
Road users should take care and plan journeys ahead in anticipation of the diversion route.
Emergency vehicle access will be maintained and vehicles associated with the works will be exempt from the restrictions.
